U18s Eagles 4 v 2 Omonia Green  07/09/08

Muswell Hill Eagles 4 Omonia Green 2
The match started slowly with Omonia looking the team that were more dangerous and who saw most of the possession. Whilst the Eagles were still in first gear, Omonia capitalised on a defensive mix up to take the lead. and while the Eagles were licking there wounds, Omonia pounced again to go 2-0 up in the first ten minutes. Driven on by hard work and the guidance of a vocal captain the Eagles found there feet and kept the ball from their opponents. Some good work up front was finally rewarded when debutant Greg Smith-Tilley struck from the edge of the box to pull one back. From this point on Omonia looked second best with the centre back pairing of Cordell & Osei'Kufour dealing with their threats.  Bad luck then hit the Eagles when Dean Harrington limped off.  Omonia caught the Eagles on the break and Keeper James Donald had to be alert to put a stinging shot round the post. Just before half time Ali Manoli crossed for Smith-Tilley to arrive back post and draw level.    The Second half began as the 1st ended with the Eagles dominating the game. Redi Berisha went on a mazy run down the flank and crossed for Roy Appiah to get the slightest of touches to put the Eagles 3-2 up. Appiah then doubled his tally to make the game safe. Omonia were unable to find a way past the Eagles defence with Manoli's cracking effort cannoning off the bar late on.

U11s Hawks 3  v 2  London Road 12/10/08

A hard fought game that the Hawks finally won 3-2 ,all starting with a cracking goal from Kyle Smith ,quickly followed up by further goals from the hard working Teag Andrews and 'poacher' Felix Rushton.
At the start of the second Half, The Hawks unfortunately had a bout of their sleeping sickness! and allowed London Road to pull back two goals ,although a great effort by James Lansdown  almost made it four, his strike forcing the London Road goalie to produce a great save and parry it round the side post for a corner

Reggie gave the boys a tough talking to at the end of the game, explaining why we must work as a team win, lose or draw, and try and get some consistancy to our games.

U9s Hawks 2 v 2  Pinnacle 19/10/12

The boys are back in town!
Perhaps one of the most fluid and exciting showcases against the top of the league Pinnacle since the development of the Hawkz and the undoubted fact that the Hawkz are truly a force to be reckoned with. Wit, skill ,guts and strength of spirit with the ball left our guests with an unwelcome and unexpected challenge in a thrilling draw.
A strange calm inner strength flowed through the Hawkz even from the first whistle where the game seemed so well executed and on a par that it would only be minor mistakes on the ball that would give away any advantage as shots were cascading against both goals through excellent set moves and passing. Pinnacle faced the might and precision of Miles Foster in defence frustrating their obviously talented striking power testing the safe hands of Jamie Bell. Literally not a ball got past Miles delivering it back up to the firepower of Kyle Smith, Alex McLaren,Felix Rushton and Teag Andrews who all also hunted down the ball at every opportunity. Andrea Bevilacqua and Kuval Sutton-Patel made their presence felt through a fantastic tackle and pass technique to keep play at its optimum .To the end of the first half sloppy play gave way to an amazing freekick for Pinnacle which hit the woodwork and was debateably tucked to the back of the net and moments later another quality goal from Pinnancle left The Hawkz 2-0 down at half time.
The second half saw the captain James Lansdown back on and in true form got stuck in on every level and made some fantastic ball, once again nothing separating the two sides but quite astonishly Felix Rushton rushed through from some messy play and launched a perfect Gerard type missile that struck straight into the heart of the Pinnacle net,2-1!
It did not take long for Felix Rushton's form to put another wonderful goal in to settle the scores.
Truly a fabulous game and Hawkz we salute you!

Hawks U9 0 v 0 Omonia White (2-1 win after penalties)

This was the Hawk’s first cup outing of the season against a lively and well organised Omonia. In their customary way the Hawks took time to settle and faced a first half onslaught that they did well to hold at bay. Again Miles Foster played a veritable brick wall of a game, allowing none to pass.  Kuval Sutton Patel showed what a find he is with fearless tackling in midfield.  The first half saw the keeper almost untested despite most of it being played in the Hawks half. The second half was more encouraging with the Hawks picking up their usual passing game. Stanley Owen had an inspired run of play and was desperately unlucky to see a 20 yard effort miss the post by inches. Extra time produced no goals despite end to end action, however the Hawks were again unlucky to have  Kyle Smith’s cool chip over a penalty area melee disallowed. Spectator’s hearts were further tested in the penalty shootout, but an impressive Felix Rushton save and 2 well taken penalties were enough to see justice prevail.
